Refrigerator Pickles

Dill Pickle Ingredients:
2-¾ lbs cucumbers
3 cloves garlic (optional)
2 cups vinegar
¼ cup sugar (optional)
¼ cup salt
2 tbsp pickling spice
2 tbsp dill seed
1 tbsp dill weed
1 tsp celery seed
1 tsp mustard seed
½ tsp pickle crisp (optional)

Sweet Pickle Ingredients:
2-3/4 lbs cucumbers
2 cups vinegar
2 cups sugar
1 tbsp pickling spice
½ tbsp dill seed
½ tsp pickle crisp (optional)

Directions:
1. Slice cucumbers into desired shape.

2. Fill ½ gallon jar or equivalent combination of jars with cucumbers.

3. Combine brine ingredients in a separate container, warm to dissolve sugar if necessary.

4. Pour brine over cucumbers, topping off with water if needed to fill jar.

5. Cover and refrigerate for a minimum of 3 days before serving. Lasts up to 1 month in the refrigerator.
